Tom Millington Named as Reading Hockey Club Men’s 1st XI Assistant Coach

Reading Hockey Club are pleased to announce that Tom Millington has agreed to be their new Assistant Coach for the Men’s 1st XI.

Tom has been coaching goalkeepers for a decade at all levels and specialises in developing performance athletes. Having worked with some of the world’s best and developed a coaching philosophy which is diverse and current, he will now take his first step in broader Hockey Coaching as part of the Reading Men’s Performance Programme.

Tom’s approach to coaching mirrors the ethos of Reading Hockey Club as he works closely with each athlete and provides a holistic approach to player development.

On the appointment, Millington said: “I’m delighted to have been appointed Assistant Coach to the Men’s 1st XI at Reading. Having been around the club for a while now, I can think of no better club to be with as I expand my coaching experience.”

The ethos and ambition of the Club to perform at the highest level while also delivering a fully inclusive and enjoyable experience for all players is second to none and I am excited to play my part in that.”

Tim Hunt, Chair of Reading Hockey Club said: “I am thrilled that Tom has agreed to join Reading as our men’s 1st XI Assistant Coach. His experience in high performance athlete environments as well as his dedication to player development make him an ideal choice to support our Men’s Performance Programme.”

Tom will begin working with the playing group at Reading immediately, working with Todd Williams who recently joined as Head of Men’s Performance. He will continue his Goal Keeping coaching at the Club and elsewhere.
